Pionierski sound system future dub. Ponadkulturowy kolektyw cybernetyków multi mediów, robiących błędy w sztuce artystów komunikujących się dźwiękowo i wizualnie. Sformowani w 1990 - Molara (wokal i instrumenty perkusyjne), Cod (melodica), Perch (live dub mixing), Hake (trąbka), Forkbeard (puzon) i Tench (klimaty i elektronika).

Zion Train to najkreatywniejsza sound system dubowa formacja. Obok takich grup jak Dreadzone należą do pionierów i największych światowych gwiazd działających na styku reggae roots i nowoczesnej elektronicznej muzyki klubowej.

We wrześniu 2007 ukazał się kolejny album Zion Train “Live As One”. Na płycie wyprodukowanej w całości przez DJ Percha oprócz etatowego wokalisty i showmana Dubdaddy i tradycyjnie pięknej gry instrumentów dętych usłyszeć można wielu znakomitych śpiewaków – m.in. Tippa Irie, Earl 16, YT czy Marlene Johnson. Przy jej tworzeniu współpracowali muzycy z Włoch, Niemiec, Chorwacji, Jamajki i Wielkiej Brytanii. Płyta pełna jest zaskoczeń i nowych brzmień (m.in. żywych gitar i bębnów) i zdecydowanie ugruntowała nowy wizerunek formacji.

“Live As One” odniósł wielki sukces na świecie, doczekał się licencji m.in. w Japonii, Meksyku i Brazylii oraz zdobył prestiżową jamajską nagrodę Reggae Grammy Awards za najlepszy album dubowy 2008 roku na świecie. Jest to kolejna reedycja w ich dykografii w nowej szacie (digipack).

Przyczyn fenomenu Zion Train można doszukiwać się w doskonałych koncertach, pozytywnej pokojowej filozofii przemawiającej do każdego, konsekwencji w działaniu oraz pięknych dźwiękach, które można usłyszeć na wszystkich ich płytach.

September 2007 sees the release of the first album since 2002 from ‘Dub/Dance pioneers’ Zion Train. Entitled ‘Live as One’ this will be the ninth long player from the UK Dub collective since their 1992 debut ‘A Passage To Indica’. The band are back with a beautifully produced ‘New Roots’ release.

‘Live As One’ features seven vocalists in various styles. Seasoned performers Earl 16, Tippa Irie and Dubdadda are to be found alongside international stars, Raiz (Italy) and Marlene Johnson (Germany) and also strong newcomers YT and Lua. All bring sterling performances and an inspirational attitude to the album. Whether, it’s the beautiful tones of Earl, Marlene and Lua, the conscious, perceptive observations of YT, Tippa and Dubdadda or the dreamlike quality of Raiz.

This album is the first produced solely by Neil Perch in the Zion Train studio in Cologne, Germany. Perch brings us an album that reassures but also pleasantly surprises; the Zion Train quality and ethos is still present and the depth and quality of musicianship is a revelation. Musicians contributing include the usual, deep blowing brass section, Dave Fullwood and Bigga alongside P Lush, of Nucleus roots fame, on guitar, keyboards from Paolo Polcari of Almamegretta, drums from Vedran of the Radikal Dub Kolektiv and melodicas from Chasbo of the Bush Chemists. Featuring musicians from Italy, Germany, Croatia, Jamaica and the UK this is truly a world-dub production.

‘Live As One’ will be released on Zion Train’s own Universal Egg imprint and in the months preceding the release there will be singles featuring remixes from Rob Smith (Smith & Mighty), Vibronics, Digital of Sativa Records and Kuranaka of Zettai-Mu (Japan) plus up and coming Dubstep and video productions.

Zion Train will feature songs from the album in their summer 2007 festival shows and will also undertake an extensive tour to support the album release throughout September and October of 2007.
