Gregory Mees, who studied industrial and graphic design at the universities of Antwerps and Brussels, and Peter Slaets, who studied information technology at the universities of Antwerps and Leuven, started in 2003 as book packagers creating many illustrated books on architecture and interior design for various international publishing companies, such as the renowned French publishing house Flammarion. In 2008 the successful Belgian entrepreneurs decided to found their own publishing company 2voor5, specializing in publications on architecture and interior design which aim at a broad readership, but also at architects, interior designers or interior architects. The practical books are richly illustrated, well researched and very informative and range from themes such as building a house with a limited budget to renovating a house or apartment. Each title is packed with top tips, creative ideas and expert advice and makes it an inspirational as well as practical sourcebook. A great number of titles published by Mees/Slaets have been reprinted several times and been successful in The Netherlands, Belgium and France.
