Every singer has his or her own unique voice and MA has always attempted to augment this by recording in large, acoustic spaces, each with its own unique sonic characteristics. The sound of an elegant voice in an equally elegant, reverberant church or concert hall, simply cannot be copied in the traditional studio environment. The singer sings in (and with) the space, creating a recorded musical statement of everlasting beauty.

All tracks on “Voices”, except “Birmingham Jail” by Sheila Jordan (track 14), were recorded in beautiful sounding churches in Europe and Argentina. The compilation starts with a medieval French song adapted and sung in Swedish(!) by Susanne Rosenberg, and ends with a solo vocal performance by Ling Ling Zhang of a popular Chinese song. Along the way, after an initial tribute to the glory and genius of J. S. Bach, we embark on a journey thru the Latin music traditions of Italy, Spain, Portugal and Argentina.
