The original 1991 release misspells "Central Industrial" as "Central Industrail". "Accelerator" is the first full-length album by Dougans and Cobain, although it is as much a compilation as anything. "Stolen Documents", "1 In 8", "Pulse State" and "Papua New Guinea" had already been released on various EPs as FSOL tracks, and "Calcium" released as a Yage track. However, the tracks are all mixed together in a primative version of the soundscape technique they would come to use on their later albums. Stylistically, the album is still very much techno, with straight up 4/4 beats on most tracks, and less complexity and depth than the group are known for. The original release features the first album artwork for FSOL by Buggy G. Riphead. The album was re-released with a couple of bonus remixes in 1992, after "Papua New Guinea" became a chart hit in the UK, and finally received a US release four years later. Jumpin' & Pumpin' celebrated ten years of the album with the 2001 re-release of it and the "Papua New Guinea" single.
