Tagan is back in the Club with their new BZ 800 Watt modular Power Supply. This unit promises six +12V rails and one of the most feature rich packages I have ever seen in a power supply. The Tagan BZ 800W is a intriguing mix of innovative features, packaging and color, but will the performance live up to all the promise? Lets find out.
There is no doubt the BZ 800 watt unit is attractive so the decision to feature it on the box is a no-brainer. Fortunately the rest of the box does a nice job of describing everything from the cable layout to the power distribution.
The Tagan BZ800W unit reminds me of some of the recent Kingwin or Hyper power supplies and points to an increase in the demand for high-end modular power supplies. Tagan promotes these units with additional certification from ABS Lab. And their seal dominates the packaging as well. Lets take a look at the specifications.

This image taken from the box provides a look at some of the key features you can expect form this unit. While items like the 135 Mm fan and 80% Plus efficiency are pretty standard in a good power supply, the +12V Turbo Mode paired with 6x +12 V rails is a new one on me.

The Tagan packaging includes everything you would expect to see in a good modular design. But Tagan has gone the extra mile by providing a host of additional goodies in the box. The power supply includes; A Users manual covering the BZ line, the usual cables shown here, a screwdriver, wire ties, an ABS Certified sticker, and a set of gloves.
Supported connectors:
As with most of the modular designs, Tagan has gone with a mix of wired cabling and modular accessory cabling. The attached cabling includes your 20/24 pin, the 8 pin and 4 pin main board leads, a grounding lead and a +12 V Molex lead. The addition of the dedicated Molex style lead is a nice touch as many top motherboard manufacturers are using this lead for auxiliary power. Now you don't have to run your hard drive run across the motherboard. A complete list of the supported devices is shown below:
