A/B Repeat function: allows you to designate a specific phrase in the song with A/B markers. Has 2 MIDI-IN, and allows soft-thru. The Roland SB-55 Sound Canvas:The Sound Canvas is good for beginners who are just learning about MIDI and synthesizers. The controls are fairly easy to use and even allow you to make minor alterations to the sounds stored in the module. For instance, you can change the attack/decay of the various samples, or the resonance -- which emphasizes certain frequencies in the sound and tends to give the sounds a "harsh, biting, synthetic" sound. There are also a few effects such as reverb, chorus, pandelay, xflanger which help to enhance the sounds and give them a feeling of space and "personality". You can also add vibratro, or enable pitch bend which you then control with the MIDI keyboard controller.
