			Initial setup made really easy
			Installing a KD22 is quick and uncomplicated. Simply connect the device to your WLAN router (switch or directly to your PC), start the supplied "Finder" and in just a few clicks your new NAS system is available to all devices on your network.

			Fits easily in nearly any environment
			The KD22 boasts an elegant pure white design and high-quality material mix. The 2.5 mm thick aluminium body ensures better heat dissipation. It also has particularly space-saving dimensions of just approx. 17 x 9 x 22.5 cm.

			Ultra-quiet operation, almost fanless
			The integrated 70 mm fan is only activated under high loads or high temperatures to protect the installed hard disks. In typical environments you'll hear almost nothing from a KD22 in standby mode.

			Always enough space for large amounts of data
			Two drive bays (3.5"/8.9 cm with 2.5" support) support two 4 TB hard disks. With RAID-1 mode activated, identical data is stored on the two drives. If one drive fails, the disk can be hot-swapped during live operation.

			Rapid data transfer
			The dual-core processor used always offers enough resources to transfer up to 110/75 MB/s (R/W) [1] via its Gigabit Ethernet interface. Ideal for ultra-rapid data backups and, of course, for regular read/write transfers to the KD22.

			Saves on electricity bills
			In view of today's rising energy prices, the KD22's extreme frugality is a real benefit. At just 9,6 W in standby mode and 19 W in normal mode [1], its consumption is negligible even in continuous operation. Good for the environment and your wallet.

			Integrated card reader for many SD memory cards
			Save your digital photos and videos automatically with the AutoCopy feature. Simply insert a memory card in the reader and the KD22 copies all content into your predefined directory. And to help you keep track of your files, the new folder is provided with a date stamp.

			Suitable for data media with USB 3.0 connection
			Your hard disks and USB sticks with rapid USB 3.0 interface can also be connected to the KD22. Sharing with newly connected drives is automatically set up so that their data can easily be made available on the network.

			Platform-independent
			Thanks to its support of multiple transfer protocols, access from PCs with Windows, OS X or Linux operating systems is possible.

			Mobile access from smartphone, tablet or browser
			Provided the "Share Box" function is enabled, you can access data stored on the KD22 from any PC with Internet capability after entering your password. For access from smartphones and tablets, use the free "OMNINAS" app (available for Android and iOS).

			Integrated media server
			Multimedia content, e.g. music, videos and photos, can easily be downloaded from DLNA-compatible devices (e.g. games consoles and media players). An iTunes server is also pre-installed.

			Additional data security thanks to automatic backups
			To safeguard the data on the KD22, you can back up selected folders to peripheral devices connected via USB or other NAS systems. This process can be time-controlled.

			Time-controlled torrent downloads
			Some P2P downloads are particularly large and therefore take a long time to complete. With the KD22 these downloads can be performed without a running PC, thereby saving energy. In order to ensure that other network users are not unnecessarily inconvenienced by the slowing down of shared Internet access, arranged downloads can be delayed and activated e.g. at night.

			Sharing your printer over the network
			An integrated printer server offers the opportunity of providing up to two USB printers over the network. Sharing a printer saves costs and energy.

Functionality:

• Web User Interface
  The device settings are made through a web browser on a computer, which is connected to the same local subnet. Many languages are supported: e.g. English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Chinese, Japanese. The OMNINAS Web Interface is particularly user friendly thanks to its simple structure. The OMNINAS Wizard is your guide during the initial setup.
• Finder Software
  The OMNINAS Finder Software Tool is used to detect the OMNINAS system in the local network (within the same subnet). It can start the Web User Interface in your default browser and can map/unmap the internal and external storages of the OMNINAS to a drive letter of your PC.

The KD20's threshold temperature refers to the "Current internal temperature" provided by the SMART monitoring system. This temperature may be much higher than the "operating/ambient temperature" that is also mentioned in the hard disk specification. The KD20 only supports hard disks with SMART monitoring system and temperature sensor which all available SATA hard disks should support.
[3] Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) - allows the transfer of images from digital cameras to computers and other peripheral devices without the need of additional device drivers. Modern digital cameras usually support this protocol.
[4] The single disk expansion function is designed to allow you to create additional storage space without changing your current single disk mode. The second disk is then recognized as "external drive".  Please refer chapter "Storage Management" in the manual for further information.
[5] You can enable the Wake on LAN function in Web User Interface: Settings - General - Enable Wake-On-LAN. After Wake on LAN is enabled for your OMNINAS, you can switch off the OMNINAS and turn on over the network by using a WOL (Wake on LAN) application. For proper function, please do not interrupt the power supply from the OMNINAS. You will find the MAC address on the bottom of the OMNINAS device.
