Flickering Flame- Simply Top Notch
I have all the works of Pink Floyd and all of Rog's solo albums. I would rate this one as the best for two reasons. First of all the recordings in this album are of near perfect quality, and second the three new songs reveal more of this great musicians heart.
This CD is an odd collection of rare Water's songs mixed with tracks taken from his solo albums. The under rated Radio Kaos album is well represented which will hopefully encourage more fans to lieten again to one of Water's most inspired albums. Flickering Flame is a new song and is so brilliant and Barrett like that it alone is worth purchasing the whole CD for. Towers of Faith from 'When The Wind Blows ' written in the mid eighties is quite remarkable. Water's lyrics talk about the World Trade Centre and the tensions building in the Middle East. Almost impossible to find on its original CD it is a must to own. The other tracks are typically different mixes and live versions of Water's classic solo work. Many great songs have been overlooked, presumably for volume 2?
