Anzio [DVD] [1969] (DVD);This is probably one of the worst war films ive watched, the acting is poor and the story line too. The description on the back of the box explains a massive battle between the german, American and British troops at the Anzio beachead. But the film doesnt even follow this story, it meanders off with Mitchum going straight to Rome and back with his buddies, his commanders not agreeing with him, some troops go off on a bit a recee, then the next thing we know the film is all about Mitchum and his buddies trying to get back to base to tell them that the germans are here, and that storyline isnt very good. So as for the huge battle of Anzio you dont see any of it because then the film ends when they get back. Thank God i only paid L1.30 for it and that was a waste.
