"While the test results may not show a dramatic performance increase when using 4GB Dual Channel Kits of competing brands, the actual feel and speed of the system increased very noticeably. When doing file conversions using the Daniusoft Ultimate Converter Software I noticed that there was at least a 10% decrease in conversion times. Not a bad result considering the only part of my system that's changed since running the previous conversions is the RAM. My system boots faster than it previously did. It opens and closes programs faster than it previously did. Overall the increase in RAM speed has helped my system operate more efficiently than it previously was."

"The bump to 4GB of RAM in a dual-channel configuration offers an obvious benefit when running multiple programs simultaneously, and generally made the PC feel snappier in day-to-day operation. In short, this is a solid budget system that we'd be proud to game on."

"We've chosen OCZ Platinum 4GB DDR2-1066 (PC2-8500) with fast 5-5-5 timings in a 4GB kit for $38 after a $25 rebate. This is certainly a value price, but this is not value memory. It is high performance DDR2-1066 memory from a top memory supplier. The extra 1066 speed lets you run your memory at a faster speed or provide reserves for overclocking the CPU. OCZ is a great memory choice."

“We ran the OCZ modules without any issues at 1066MHz 5-5-5, but aside from that these Platinum kits have a very good overclocking potential, as soon as we increased the voltage to 2.2 we achieved 1120MHz. This is the highest performance we have ever achieved with a 4GB kit! Last but not least the price makes the OCZ kit a great choice which will even make overclockers happy."

"For a long time it was considered overkill but these days we recommend to use 4Gb of memory for a game PC. The latest games, such as Crysis, use the increased memory quite well. On top of that the pricing of such modules have dropped dramatically during the year, so you won’t have to invest more money for 4 Gb of memory. Our choice is the OCZ Platinum XTC 4Gb DDR2-1066 CL5 kit."

"The OCZ Platinum 1066MHz 4GB Kit performed extremely well when it came to overclocking and left all competitors behind. We managed to overclock the OCZ kits to 1256MHz, if you take the price into consideration OCZ makes the best overclocking modules out there available for everybody so we cant do anything else but give it our Best Buy Award."

"Impressive overclocking results and low temperatures make this OCZ kit a true Overclocking King. The price / performance ratio is also excellent, last but not least we want to point out the great manufacture quality from OCZ once again. It deserves both our Gold and Performance award."
