Mega Proto Screw Shield breaks out all pins of Arduino Mega 2560 and some of the pins are extended to 3.5mm-spacing screw terminals. Besides, it is equipped with 2.54 pitched universal electronic brick interface, 4-pin grove electronic brick interface as well as XBee interface for pins D0 ~ 21 and A0 ~ 15, which is a great help to design of our prototyping development board. In addition, the electronic brick interface has a level switch, which is compatible with mainboards of 3.3V operating level such as Arduino DUE.

Operating level switch

The supply voltage of V pin on the electronic brick interface will change accordingly by switching over, that is, voltage of V pin goes to 3.3V when switching to 3.3V and 5V when switching to 5V.

Serial communication switch

XBee module will communicate with mainboard Mega when switching to BOARD terminal and it will communicate with 8U2 or 16U2 on mainboard when switching to XU2 terminal.

Indicator

• PWR, indicator of supply voltage for the shield: when the supply is normal, PWR indicator will be regularly ON.

Button

• XBee_RST, XBee module resetting button: press this button to reset XBee module.
• Mega_RST, mainboard resetting button: press this button to reset mainboard.

Note

• The shield can realize wireless program writing function with BTBee Pro module. To do this, an OR resistor must be welded on R1 position in the following diagram.
