The HX-DC2 captures even tiny details in 14-megapixel high-resolution still pictures. Depending on the situation, you can flexibly shoot either high-quality 14-megapixel photos or Full-HD videos. You can also capture 2-megapixel still images while recording a video by simply pressing the Still button.*

Panorama makes it is possible to shoot a horizontal / vertical panoramic image with consequent shots taken by overlaying the previous picture.

Easily take photos with the optimal exposure. Three images taken at different exposures are combined to record one optimal still image while suppressing blown highlights and blocked shadows.

HDR Paint further expands your photo creativity. This correction process gives still images an artistic, painting-like effect.

This function lets the camcorder snap up to 10 consecutive 3-megapixel still images, which are fired off at 1-second intervals for a total of 40 continuous images in about 4 seconds. You can use it to get good shots of subjects in fast motion. Just fire off a number of shots without stopping, then keep the best ones and delete the rest.

The High-Speed Reverse Consecutive Shooting function continues to capture images while the Still button is pressed, and then, by releasing the button when the desired scene ends, the data that was input just prior to the button release is recorded onto the Built-in Memory as consecutive images. This lets you preserve important memories without missing out on those split-second shutter opportunities.

* The number of consecutive shooting images that can be taken varies depending on the image recording size. Also, there is a limit to the number of consecutive images that can be taken.

The iA function is active even when shooting still images. When the Intelligent Scene Selector detects the shooting situation, it optimizes the settings for the still image.

Adjust the exposure and coloration so that skin tones look true and natural.

Switches to Macro mode when the camcorder comes close to the subject.

The new 5-axis correction ensures beautiful images with minimal blurring even in highly active situations. Its effects extend to a variety of shooting styles, such as zooming and shooting while walking.

Get as close as 1 cm when shooting small objects such as flowers or accessories. Enjoy creative shooting with high-resolution photos.

The HX-DC2 automatically focuses on your subject with its nine-point auto focus, even if it isn't located in the center of the frame. This prevents your shots from going out of focus.

Select the exposure compensation, aperture priority, and manual mode to shoot.
This allows manual shooting to match the situation.

Easy Sharing and Playback

MPEG-4 files are widely used because they combine video and sound in the same file. As a result, the files can be quickly and easily saved onto a PC and then uploaded onto blogs or social networking sites to share with friends and family.

The HX-DC2 lets you record videos in the iFrame. With iFrame, the video in your camera is the same format you'll edit, so it's fast to import and edit with compatible video editing software. iFrame is based on standards, so it works with a number of applications ― such as iMovie.

Data can be quickly transferred to a PC, with no need for data conversion.

Data transferred from the HX-DC2 can be directly edited with iMovie.

Increases in volume due to the data conversion process are also suppressed after editing.

Your images can be easily shared on the web and used for mobile enjoyment with any portable device.

By using the Eye-Fi™ card, you can save files recorded on a card to a PC of file-sharing site via a wireless network. You can direct transport the data to your device (smartphone, tablet etc.) without connecting another access point.
