The Doors [DVD] (DVD);Okay, Mr.Stone took a few liberties with this - adding, subtracting, embellishing, inventing and modifying many events. But this DVDs still a "must-have" for every Doors fanatic and Morrison anorak everywhere: (thats why I bought it). The casting more than makes up for the errors which have been seized upon and ranted over so many times since the films original release, with Val Kilmer reincarnating Jims spirit with creditable excellence. And, of course, the music speaks for itself. Put the discrepancies to one side, suspend disbelief and this is a brilliant cinematic portrait of a musical/poetic phenomenon. To those who still wouldnt go near this DVD with a ten-foot pole because of the inaccuracies: this film was made by the same Oliver Stone who made "JFK" - and look what a furore that caused. For a straight biog. of The Doors, try "When Youre Strange".
