During the last thirty years Henk Visser has been able to acquire superb examples of the finest arms of those and later centuries, from the well-known and much sought-after weapons of the Bodyguard of the Electors of Saxony, the remarkable multi-shot wheel-lock guns and pistols of the same period and of incredible mechanical intricacy, fine French arms, some originally in the Cabinet d'Armes of Louis XIII, the best examples of English gun-making of the late 18th and mid-19th centuries, innovatory military systems of the transition period and rare and early air weapons.
Having decided to concéntrate on research into the history of Dutch gunmakers, based on his unsurpassed collection of arms of Netherlands origin, Henk Visser has made his collection of specimens from other countries available to collectors and museums world-wide, who will reap the benefit of his enthusiasm and acumen.
