In the first part a group of ten Americans, who have first hand experience of the invasive power of the government decide and plan their escape onto a new volcanic island seeking a peaceful life together free from the overbearing intrusive nature of big government. They say good-byes to their families and take the plunge into the unknown. After five months of peacefully being alone and loving every day of the adventure, an old friend surprises the original ten by bringing over 300 strangers, who seemingly feel the same toward the rapidly growing despotic government and were willing to leave the comfortable life in America behind. Soon 52 of the additional political dissidents feel trapped, feel as though the rough life on a barren landscape is too much, and are returned to the states. The remaining 263 start the process of constructing a town, city streets, water and sewer lines, electrical power generated by individual solar systems invented by Mark, the lead character. A mayor is appointed and they start the process of creating a new society built upon Judeo-Christian principles. They officially name the island after Montesquieu, the French Philosopher that Americas founders looked to. This sequel continues on that theme with one surprise after another and then terror strikes.
