MAX7219 is an integrated serial input / output common-cathode display driver, it connects the microprocessor and 8 bit 7 level digital LED display, it also can be connected bar graph display or 64 independent LED. It includes an on-chip B BCD encoder, a scanning circuit, a drive, but also have one 8*8 static RAM used to store each data. There is only one external register used to segment of the current settings for each LED
Four wire serial interface can be connected with all general microprocessor. Each data can update address and don’t need to rewrite all the display. MAX7219 also allows the user to select each data coding or non-coding.
All device contains a 150 μ A low power consumption shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness control, a limited scan register allows the user to display 1-8 bit data, there is a let all LED luminescence detection mode.
Only 3 pieces of IO port that they can drive 1 dot matrix! Without blinking when dot matrix displaying! Support cascading!

Wiring instructions:
1 module on the left is input port, on the right is output port.
2 when controlling single module, input port is connected to the CPU
3 many modules cascaded, the first module is connected to the input of the CPU, the output end is connected with the input end of the second module, second module output terminal third module input, and so on
Attention:
1 VCC and GND can not be reversed, so as not to burn out chip!
2 when using 51 SCM P0 port control, must link up resistance, recommended resistance values is 4.7K--10K
3 please make dot matrix insert hole, then the hole seat insert PCB board welding. Making dot matrix characters towards yourself, from left to right pin order is 123456. PCB board first feet square pad
4 electrolytic capacitors long pin is positive, short pin is negative; ceramic capacitor has not discriminate positive and negative
