Timeless even after 15 years ~
Last night, I heard a radio station broadcast this album in its entirety, and boy did it bring back so many memories! "Fresh Aire VI" was one of my most favorite albums during my high school years, and upon listening to it again the other night I was really surprised just how well the music works even today. Not only do many of the tracks stand the test of time, they also leave so much to the imagination with fantastic references to Greek mythology and maritime traditions. Finally, with electronic instruments seamlessly weaved into orchestral and choral sounds, what we have here is very a interesting, very rich, very musically noteworthy album. So, am I glad that I happened to catch that broadcast on the radio... It would have been a pity to have all this great music be lost from my life. Now that I have the recording once again, I am confident I can draw much pleasure from listening to this CD for a very, very long time. - Reviewer: Terry C. at Amazon "Impressions of Greek Mythology via Mannheim Steamroller" ~ In order to review the sixth album in the "Fresh Aire" series - one must dismiss the fact that I am a big fan, my mother was Greek (Maria Patestas) and Chip Davis is a genius, aside from that believe this album is an outstanding contribution to today's musical genre, we call - New Age! Now let's look at this symphonic gem, inspiring highlights - "SUNRISE AT RHODES" as the God, Helios readies his chariot to take up the sun from the crystal gates on the horizon of the ocean, wings flap, horses whinny in the clouds as the ocean disappears below, this cue is extraordinary, simply captivating with musical passages and epic proportions of percussion mixed with choral, that raise the hair on the back of your neck...while the mood change of "NEPENTHE" the Egyptian drug, meant "no sorrow" to the Greeks, beautiful piano solo, blending with strings, harp and wind instruments, so touching as the depths of your heart feel the tugging of connected strings, let's you drift with a feeling that all the burdens of the day have been lifted from your mind, simply superb.
