Opis: A ruthless gang of thuggish outlaws butcher the settlers of a small Colorado town, taking with them any spoils they can lay their hands on. Leaving a bloody trail of death behind them, they head for the Mexican border. Their only obstacles are a notoriously lethal river and a mysterious, hard as nails, shotgun wielding boat owner called Travis Barquero, and he aint going nowhere. Barquero [DVD] (DVD);Jack Remy (Warren Oates) and his gang massacre and loot an entire town and head towards Mexico. Along the way they come across a river were the only way across is to use the ferry but what they dont count on is Travis (Lee Van Cleef) who has the ferry on the opposite side of the river and isnt willing to give up without a fight.;This is one of the few 1970s westerns Lee Van Cleef made that was a American production. It has a slight Spaghetti Western feel to it at times but it is mainly played out as a traditional American Western.;Director Gordon Douglas, who made the 1950s classic THEM! has both his good moments and bad in this movie, at times he has a few jump cuts in mid conversation to a full face shot which just looks odd, but he handles the action sequences well.;Lee Van Cleef and Warren Oates are great in their roles but I think Forrest Tucker steals the show as Mountain Phil. The music score by Dominic Frontiere is average but I did really like the piece of music played before Van Cleef and Oates final showdown.;This may not be the most action packed film (the majority of the action takes place at the begining and end of the movie) but I still enjoyed this film as the tension keeps rising and doesnt stop until the final confrontation. Id recommend this to any Western and Lee Van Cleef Fan
