Manufacturer's Description
The Avro Lancaster is, without a doubt, the most famous bomber of all time. Designed by Roy Chadwick to win a war, it still sets pulses racing when the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster makes its commemorative sorties. The expert vintage aircraft developers at Aeroplane Heaven have followed their success with Spitfire and produced the definitive Lancaster package.
Lancaster is officially licensed by the Royal Air Force. It features eight variants of the Lancaster in 15 liveries, including a modified Dam Busters aircraft (with animated bouncing bomb), the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster and even a French Aeronavale version.
The level of detail in this package has only previously been seen in flight simulation expansions of complex modern airliners. A huge amount of historical research has been undertaken and virtual pilots can now leave their beautifully modelled cockpits and choose to sit in other parts of the aircraft. The alternative positions are from the viewpoint of the bomb aimer, air gunner, navigator and wireless operator.
Lancaster also includes a bonus version of the famous de Havilland Mosquito. The 'wooden wonder' could out-run most fighters of the day and is reproduced to the same high quality and accuracy as the rest of the Lancaster package.
The accuracy extends right down to the crew uniforms pilots of the display aircraft wear modern flying kit!
As if all this wasn't enough, Lancaster also comes with scenery of RAF Scampton and many unique special effects, including 'droppable'bombs, searchlights and moving turrets!
