Two Pigs F***ingLABRAT play an amalgamation of many of the most extreme forms of music today. The blend Grindcore with Hardcore and Noise and play extremely intense music for the entire duration of the 41 and a half minutes. While I am not going to question LABRAT's originality as the music speaks for itself and is quite unlike anything I have heard before I am going to question their passion. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I find this release to be very lacking. The extremity is just extreme to be extreme and the production plays down the vocals which hough have a fantastic range (somewhere from Dani Filth to deep growls) seem also to be lacking in feeling making the music appear to be lifeless despite all the additives to generate this much needed life. This is an aggressive, angry sounding album, but what are they angry at? Who or what is their aggression directed at? It all seems very contrived to me. I believe that this could be well aimed at a younger audience and this new style could be just what is needed to keep Metal fresh and alive for a future audience, as in actual fact I would think fans of SLIPKNOT would enjoy this. This band could also help them progress on to Death Metal of even Grindcore...
