Images and inscriptions of observe and back sides of coins are relief.
The lateral surface (drove) is grooved with 10 sectors of corrugation.
Reverse: Composition to symbolize the unity of a man and the universe, bonds of past and present. The face value «50 ТЕҢГЕ» of the coin is depicted on the right sector. On the circumference there are legends "ҚАЗАҚСТАН YЛТТЫҚ БАНКI" and «REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN».
Reverse: Image of the spaceship “Vostok” in the center against background of the Earth. Image of the Moon in the upper part. “1961” in the lower part means year of first flight of a man to space. The name of the coin is indicated in Kazakh "ВОСТОК" ҒАРЫШ КЕМЕСІ" and in English "SPACESHIP "VOSTOK". “2008” means year of coinage. Inscriptions are divided by dots.
