Lasok and Millett's book, which follows Lasok's earlier and highly-acclaimed The European Court of Justice: Practice and Procedure, is an invaluable guide to the Court of Justice and Court of First Instance. The book begins with a description of the make-up of the two Luxembourg courts, before launching into a tour of the different types of action, with an explanation of how the courts handle each of these in practice. Beginning with substance, the section on infringement proceedings contains a useful summary of the often complex case law here, and would make an excellent introduction for any LL.M student. It is extremely up-to-date (unfortunately, the book is slightly out-of-date in other respects, possibly due to tight publication deadlines, with references for example to the old Merger Regulation rather than the new one which came into force in May 2
