In 1950 Leo Fender introduced the game changing solid body electric guitar that was originally known as the Broadcaster. However, in early 1951, Fender had to change the guitars name because 'Broadkaster' was already legally licensed by the Gretsch Company for a line of drums. For a short-lived period, the factory workers just removed the “Broadcaster” decal from the headstock, leaving just the Fender logo with no model name, which is how the name 'Nocaster' came about. These guitars are extremely rare considering that they were only produced for a few months, and produced less then 500 of these guitars before Fender officially renamed it 'Telecaster'.

This 1951 Closet Classic Nocaster holds true to the original design of this highly prized classic solid body electric guitar, from the nameless headstock down to the vintage hardware. The body of this '51 Nocaster is crafted from 2-piece lightweight ash and is finished in faded vintage white Closet Classic lacquer to cater to this guitars vintage vibe. The neck of this Nocaster is carved from maple into a chunky '52 Style “U” profile and houses 21 Sanko 6105 frets. Nothing can beat the classic Tele twang and tone of these two Custom Shop pickups. The Closet Classic '51 Nocaster neck pickup and the Closet Classic Broadcaster pickup in the bridge position were designed to faithfully reproduce that renowned tone delivered by the original. The '51 Nocaster features vintage-correct hardware including a '51 Nocaster bridge (with Pat. Pend. and serial number, just as the original) with '51 vintage Tele saddles and Closet Classic nickel tuning machines.

The '51 Closet Classic Nocaster comes fully protected in a vintage style tweed case. Inside the case is a Custom Shop certificate of authenticity, a black tweed instrument cable, a leather strap, picks, a vintage-style bridge cover and a polishing cloth with Fender's custom shop logo. Also included in your purchase is a tool box kit with everything you need to properly maintain and adjust this instrument.
