Opis:
Akcja filmu dzieje się na planecie Draagów - wysoko rozwiniętej cywilizacji, która hoduje Ziemian niczym zwierzątka. Ludzie ci, zwani Omami, są podzieleni na dwie grupy - dzikich i udomowionych. Jeden z przedstawicieli gatunku udomowionych - Terr, posiadł wiedzę Draagów. Kradnie słuchawki służące im do zdobywania wiedzy o osobliwym świecie, w którym żyją, a następnie ucieka do osady zamieszkanej przez dzikich Omów, z zamiarem podzielenia się swoją wiedzą i uratowania nielicznych przedstawicieli gasnącej rasy ludzkiej.
René Lalouxs mesmerising psychedelic sci-fi animated feaature won the Grand Prix at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival and is a landmark of European animation. Based on Stefan Wuls novel Oms en série [Oms by the dozen], Lalouxs breathtaking vision was released in France as La Planete sauvage [The Savage Planet] , in the USA as Fantastic Planet , and immediately drew comparisons to Swifts Gullivers Travels and Planet of the Apes (both the 1968 film and Boules 1963 novel). Today, the film can be seen to prefigure much of the work of Hayao Miyazaki at Studio Ghibli ( Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Ponyo ) due to its palpable political and social concerns, cultivated imagination, and memorable animation techniques.;La Planete sauvage tells the story of "Oms", human-like creatures, kept as domesticated pets by an alien race of blue giants caalled "Draags".
