Jak widać Grecka Metalowa Scena coraz częściej zaznacza swoją obecność na thrash metalowej mapie świata Drunkard obok Suicidal Angels to doskonały dowód ,że tu METAL ma bardzo mocna pozycję!!!
Drunkard offers up crunchy metallic thrash on their latest album, "Like Sin Explode." They play their own style of metal and don’t really mimic the classic thrash bands. They certainly have an aggressive approach with a lot of staccato picking, but it doesn’t really grasp your attention as well as you might hope overall.
Drunkard thus maintains a certain level of intensity, but it doesn’t really seep into your pores as much as you would expect overall. Drunkard plays reasonably well, it’s just that thrash often takes a catchy, memorable approach and these guys don’t necessarily have it, so they fall into the realm of just being a solid, but not spectacular act. Sure there’s an enjoyable style to be found and Drunkard is keen on putting enough curves into the mix to maintain excitement. Bands like earlier Metallica were able to put interesting segments into their albums like some of the latter portions of "Leper Messiah," but none of those moments appear on this album.
That said, we can just expect a riff-fest of sorts, and on that end the band delivers to a good extent. There’s a pyramid of sounds created to complement Drunkard’s theatrics, and they manage to craft some solid compositions out of everything. “Kiss of Mayhem” is a good example of the chops the outfit has to offer at their best.
"Like Sin Explode" is a pretty good album that lacks the memorability to stand out amongst some of the better thrash you’ve heard and falls slightly short of the classics. This is still recommended for people looking for a well written and played album that has enough craftiness to satisfy.
