Opis: There’s a reason why Curb Your Enthusiasm is regarded as such a classic comedy, and you’ll find plenty of further evidence in season eight of the show. It retains the uncomfortable, honest approach to its comedy, with Larry David playing a fictionalised take on himself. There aren’t too many parameters holding the show in, and it continually strays beyond lines that many others wouldn’t go near. Fortunately, it’s all done by such a skilled bunch of people, that the end result is more gut-bustingly funny than the majority of its contemporaries. Season eight of the show sees Larry as a single man, following his divorce from his wife, Cheryl, and the location of the series shifts from Los Angeles to New York, too. It doesn’t impact the barbs, the cutting lines and the quality of the comedy though, and it’s hard to get across just how brilliant Larry David is here. Curb Your Enthusiasm benefits from a strong supporting cast, willing to join in with the improvised nature of much of the script, but it’s David who steals pretty much every episode. Season eight finds Curb Your Enthusiasm in refreshingly rude health, and this release adds in some extra value, with New York-focused extra features. Boasting some of the show’s funniest episodes though, it’s the wonderful comedy that remains the star attraction, and Curb Your Enthusiasm’s courage and quality shows no sign of waning at all. |
