This Edsel package brings together Manhattan Transfer’s second and third albums for Atlantic Records released in 1976 and 1978. During this period they were even more popular in the UK than at home in the US. • Following the UK number one single ‘Chanson D’Amour’ in February 1977, ‘Coming Out’, the album on which it featured, rose to number 12 in the UK albums chart. The album was produced by Richard Perry (Carly Simon, Nilsson, Barbra Streisand, Ringo Starr) with the cream of the US’s session musicians. • The following year ‘Pastiche’ reached the Top Ten of the UK album chart, and featured four hit singles: ‘Walk In Love’, ‘On A Little Street In Singapore’, ‘Where Did Our Love Go’ and ‘Who, What, When, Where, Why’. • The booklet features a 3000 word note by Man Tran authority Tony Rounce, which tells the story of the group in great detail, as well as examining the background history of every song.
