As you have already guessed CITIZEN CAIN are a progressive rock band from Scotland. In my opinion their influences I would have to say are JETHRO TULL, CAMEL, MARILLION and GENESIS, who seems to be their biggest influence. To me the music is very much in the GENESIS, "Nursery Crymes" / "Foxtrot" / "Selling England by the Pound" era. But don't get me wrong the music on 'Somewhere but Yesterday' doesn't sound dated, far from it. It's highly complex, fresh, exciting and even at times a little amusing and lets face it GENESIS today are not the same band they were all those years ago.
Citizen Cain released their latest CD 'Skies Darken' in April 2012. It was their first for 10 years and was extremely well received by Prog fans around the world, beig placed in many end of year Top Ten polls. The band's back catalogue has been unavailable for many years, and the latter releases were pressed in very small numbers. Festival Music, the label that releases 'Skies Darken' have now remastered all of the back catalogue with the help of the excellent Mike Varty, bringing to life the excellent music of Citizen Cain oince again. Serpents In Camouflage is now a 2 CD release, including a bonus disc featuring all 4 tracks from the band's demo tape released in 1991 on Cd for the very first time. These tracks have also been relastered.
