It is best used as a course companion, to be referred to when starting a topic, and to help you understand when you are in difficulties. When tests and exams approach it will usefully explain things in a few pages, and test you thoroughly. Teachers may set the book as homework, or use it in class tests. From the Author My aim in writing this book was to make chemistry both concise and clear, so that students can quickly reinforce class work, and subsequently revise it. Through my role as an A Level Chemistry tutor I have been able to test successive drafts of this material with students, and this has been extremely valuable and interesting. It was a huge challenge to condense the essence of the subject into so few pages, but I know from working with students the value of doing this. There is just as much emphasis in the book on questions as there is on content, as only by testing themselves do students really discover how good their understanding of a topic is. Exam-style questions are provided for students to practise their exam technique. A variety of styles is presented to reflect the diversity of questions in the papers. Students are given realistic space to write their answers, as in real exam questions. Students and teachers will be able to diagnose any exam technique problems by looking over the written answers.
