Japanese ceramics, one of the oldest traditions, is today producing the most varied and exciting ceramics in the world. The Crueger collection is an encyclopaedic representation from over the last three decades of this regional, stylistic and typological wealth, with some 400 examples from approximately 340 different potters and production plants. In addition to classical utensils for the tea ceremony, regional ceramic vessels and industrially produced items for daily use, there are also ceramic art works by internationally acclaimed contemporary studio artists and Japanese state designated Living National Treasures.
