Catherine Antoine? One more jazz singer ? Yes, but in a register which is far from the current jazz-pop trend… It rather appears to be french chanson whose poetic lyrics are highlighted by sober and subtle jazz arrangements.

First album for Catherine Antoine, but a solid stock of musical knowledge with a classic piano and voice education and a true revelation for the jazz in 1997 which has brought her to compose and improve herself through her contact with experienced jazzmen such as Didier Lockwood, Benoît Sourisse, Pierre Alain Goualch and singers like Michèle Hendricks and Anka Parghel.

A lot of maturity and no artifices in “Illusion”. Pascal Nicol plays guitar, Marc Buronfosse plays bass and Jacques Tellitocci plays percussions. They accompany with accuracy the piano and the voice of Catherine Antoine and the result, far from an illusion, is a real French vocal jazz album !
