OPINIE o HA-160:

As I got ha160 I've hooked it in directly to my PS Audio PWD D/A convertor and listened just for a while. My first impressions were not very positive - lack of bass (lower to upper bass), compressed mids and harsh highs. I did not bad time to investigate so I let it powered on with HD800 hooked in the right jack for 2days to have a bit of burn-in.

After 2days I put headphones on and the bass impact get much better. I also realized that for 300ohm I should be using the left jack and so tried that and viola, the mids are now full with proper tonality (colour of voice is now much more natural). But having using left jack I realized I can hear hum on background and quickly I realized it's coming from shielded Ethernet cable my DAC is connected To home network. I used Ethernet 1:1 coupler connector to galvanicaly break the cable shielding and this removed the hum I had in headphones.

From this moment I can say that sound of ha160 is fantastic :)

Za regulację głośności wzmacniacza słuchawkowego i preampa odpowiada
24 krokowa drabinka rezystorowa.

Jest to rozwiązanie bezkompromisowe stosowane w przedwzmacniaczach z najwyższej półki. Nawet najlepsze potencjometry wprowadzają istotny szum do sygnału audio. Szczególnie na niedużych poziomach głośności. Stąd dla topowej klasy sprzętu od dawna poszukiwano innych rozwiązań.
Precyzyjne, niskoszumne rezystory usuwają kolejne "wąskie gardło" systemu ujawniając skrywane wcześniej detale muzycznego spektaklu, lepsze oddanie transjentów, rytmu, lokalizacji i barwy.

Drabinki firmy DACT same kosztują ponad 500zł ! A jakie dają rezultaty?

When something is designed with ideals and custom made the old school way, the end result will always surpass anything that is mass produced and profit driven. This simple rule applies to all things, from carpentry, and masonry to automobiles, and it is certainly the rule for the world of music and audio design.

Listening to music is a very personal and life long adventure. We know!

The HA-160 is an uncompromising reference class headphone amplifier packed with Burson technologies, Burson refinement and Burson passion. It will cleanse your soul from the daily racket of life and make you fall in love with your collections all over again.

No ICs.

Most headphone amps are built with ICs (integrated circuitry). Listening to an IC based head amp is like trying to listen to a grand concert through a key-hole! With ICs you are missing out on the micro detail that makes music musical and the macro dynamic that makes our hearts beat with excitement. There is only one reason for an IC to appear in audio gear, and that is cost saving at the expense of music!

The HA-160 has been designed with no ICs within its circuitry. Our discrete (IC free) approach allows us to optimise our design and tune our machines to achieve the best in audio reproduction. The elimination of ICs has made the HA-160 far more superior to its IC based competitors - on all fronts.

Cleaner Power

Just like an athlete needs clean air to perform at an optimum standard – audio equipment needs clean power to reproduce transparent and natural music.

Utilising the Burson Audio discrete (IC free) low noise regulator technology we have ensured that only the cleanest power is running through every component of our HA-160.

"Overall my opinion of the Burson Audio HA160 headphone amp is a surprising one, especially to myself. This is the first solid-state amp I have ever used that I truly loved equal to, or even more than my tube based amps. The clean power the unique philosophy and the discrete engineering of this amp make it more than just another Head Amp, this desktop amp is a thing of beauty and is easily the equivalent of amps that are twice its price. "

The Burson Audio HA-160 from Australia is a transistor amp a valve fiend can embrace not because it sounds the same—far from it—but because it doesn't do any of the bad things transistors can be guilty of. Team Burson is completely right. Solid-state done right does sound very good. While I've been around too long and too many blocks to believe their insistence on complete discrete is the only way to go, it clearly is one that leads to the goal. The new boss in this sector is from Oz? Damn right and g' day to ya too.

A performance focused volume control

At the time when an audio signal is passing through the volume control, it is still at its weakest. At this stage, the audio signal is very vulnerable to noise pollution and interference. A major source of such distortion is the commonly used remote volume control adopted by most manufactures.

Burson Audio recognized the drawbacks associated with remote volume controls and deemed them unacceptable. Instead, we developed a 24 stepped attenuator, constructed with the best quality components available. Our Burson stepped attenuator ensures preservation of even the weakest audio signal; The air between instruments, the decay after an attack and all micro details that makes music enjoyable.

Higher Definition

The function of Opamps at the output stage is as important as the lens on a cinema projector. Regardless of the analytical capability of the audio gear, an inferior opamp will halve a machine’s performance, and distort every dB of sonic imagery.

Just like our acclaimed P-160 amplifiers, the HA-160 features our Burson HD audio opamp. It enables the HA-160 to reproduce music in superior resolution and accuracy.

Burson Audio HA-160 feedback by Albert

L. with AKG701Q, Meridian506 & Siltech cables

My HA160 after 50 hours burn in exceeded all the hypes. I especially like its warm side of neutral tones and its reference class dynamics and speed. A great match for the 701Q. Albert.

Burson HA-160 with Ultrasone Edition 8 feedback by George T.

My main source with this amp is the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD PCI-E, but I've also tried my Pico USB DAC with it. At first, I thought it was a bit light on the bass, but then I realized that it's my X-Fi HD that's light on the bass compared to my Pico DAC. So far my Burson has around 200 hours on it. It's perfectly burned in and sounds completely unbelievable. It has a thick, powerful sound with great detail, amazing dynamics, and a massive sound stage you can only find in a high-end c...

Burson HA-160 feedback by Joe with HD600 & Sony MDR-EX1000

My HD600 was previously missing some bass, though I had recabled them with TWcu. With HA-160, the bass have now extended lower and hit harder. Mids sounds wonderfully coloured. Treble is a little soft but well extended. With HA-160, I'm also able to use my Sony EX-1000 without any fears of the driver going burst. Though magnificently detailed, clear and transparent without any grain, EX-1000 is sorely lacking in bass. Listening to EX-1000 has now provided the slam in bass and also introduced ...

Burson HA-160 with AKG K701 feedback by Tom A.

I Love my Burson HA-160! Here it is in-action driving Sennheiser K701's on an Autodesk Smoke setup. In addition, the HA-160 is an extremely accurate reference tracking & mixing live instruments. Thank you, Burson! Tom A

Burson HA-160 feedback by Randy G. with Hifi Man HE-6

I have owned three headphone amps prior to purchasing the Burson HA 160, i.e. Creek ,Musical Fidelity and HiFi Man in that order . Although each amp has had its own character, each successive amp was an upgrade and the Burson is no exception. The Burson seems to offer more of the ingredients which make a good headphone amp which are identified in reviews and thus do not need to be repeated here. On a personal level I find that with the Burson I now spend the majority of my time...

Burson HA-160 with AKG K702 feedback by Glenn O.

Thank you for making such an amazing headphone amplifier. I have enjoyed every minute of listening to the masterpiece that this device is. It is truly an amazing experience and is quite worth the price. Glenn.

Burson HA-160 with Denon D7000 & Denon DCD-1510AE feedback by Eirik.

HA-160 with Denon D7000

The Burson HA-160 is extremely solid and heavy built. It reeks of quality when you lift it out of the box. When it comes to the most important part, the sound; it delivers more details in the music as opposed to the sound when plugging my headphones directly into my sacd-player. This is my first impression on the first day of owning this beauty. Eirik.

Burson HA-160 with Audeze LCD-2 & Linn Majik DS feedback by Peter S.

Let me begin by saying "Wow!". Hats off to all the audiophiles, engineers and enthusiasts at Burson who make little marvels like the HA-160. Though I've considered myself an audiophile now for some years, it's only relatively recently that finances have allowed me to pursue the hobby and the HA-160 is my first headphone amp. Attached is an image of my listening system. Apologies you may not be able to discern the source (a Linn Majik DS) concealed in my hi-fi cabinet and the Audez'e LCD-2 h...

Burson HA-160 with AKG K702 & Marantz CD5004 feedback by Peter M.

The Burson brings more ambience, better soundstaging, much less congestion in complicated full-orchestra music, and much smoother highs (including less graininess in early digital CDs). I think I am also getting better bass extension than before. I am completely happy with this purchase." Peter.

Burson HA-160 with Sony 7520 headphones feedback by David S.

I am using this amplifier in my home recording studio. I use it primarily for monitoring during recording of acoustic guitars. I have found the unit (combined with my Sony 7520 headphones) to render a very accurate monitoring experience. The choice of headphone connection based on headphone impedence is a very important feature as I use multiple headphones based on function. David S.

Burson HA-160 with Akg K701 feedback by Pau S.

This Amplifier is amazing, im new in this world but the akg 701 arrived 2 days before of the amplifier. With the burson there was an incredible change. All sounds better and more clearly. Pau S.

Burson HA-160 with Denon D7000 & JKDAC32 feedback by Gery M.

I'm very impressed with the build and sound quality of the HA-160 headphone amp. I use mine in a computer audio system with a JKDAC32 DAC, JRiver Media Center for GUI, JPLAY as the player engine and a pair of Denon AH-D7000 headphones. Prior to using the HA-160 I was using a portable headphone and the HA-160 is much, much better than the portable and provides a lot of product for my hard earned money. My wife is jealous as I spend quite a bit of time at the computer listening and re-discove...

Burson HA-160 feedback by Truc A. with Beyerdynamic headphones

I'm a french user of the HA-160. Thanks for your excellent work, this little marvel sounds astonishingly good! Truc A.

Burson HA-160 with Grado 325i feedback by Marco.

I "risked" the purchase without having been able to listen first, trusting reviews. Still has not reached 100 hours, but already the sound is dynamic, deep bass and high frequencies are clear and clear ... wonderful! I'm really pleased. I confirm all the features described by others before me. I also always had an uncomfortable feeling, listening through headphones, the sound came from behind his back as if to turn around tools. With Burson Instead, the sound is in front as if I listen...

Burson HA-160 feedback by Ray R with Sennheiser HD650 & Ultrasone edition 8

The HA-160 amp is simply AWESOME!!! It blew me away! I am using it with Sennheiser HD-650's & Ultrasone Edition 8's"...

Burson HA-160 with HD650 & Anedio D1 feedback by Carl.

For me the HA-160 is the very essence of what high-end hi-fi should sound like. This thing hits like the proverbial sledge hammer in a velvet glove, if you like your music with a bit of kick to it you've come to the right place. It is very rare to find an amplifier that has such extension, authority and control - and yet manages to remain so calm, composed and detailed. Over the two years that I've owned the HA-160 I've never felt the need to exchange it for something else, and in my case tha...

Burson HA-160/DA-160 with ATH-M50's, Shure 840 and Grado SR80i feedback by Kesh.

Oh wow...what can I say, the build quality and fit finishing is just amazing! I love the all aluminium look and feel. These units are heavy and rock solid! I must say that this is definitely a purchase I do not have any regrets with!! The HA-160 is superb sounding with good sound stage and good separation. The DA-160 works flawlessly to decode good flac music at 24/96. The details I hear now with this setup is just inspiring and this will make me run through all my music again..just to catch...

Burson HA-160 feedback by Giny G. with Sony ES 707, NAD M5, Aude'ze LCD-2 & Denon 5000

"

The Burson HA-160 fits perfectly in this gear. It is of an impressive solidity (and weight). The sound is crisp and clean from the very highs to the very lows and there is absolutely no audible hiss (I hate hiss when listening). The volume knob is great, it delivers a firm grip and the right listening level is easily found. I use VandenHul cables as the interconnects between the cd player-pre-amp-Burson HA-160"... Giny G. Burson HA-160 with AKG K702, Grado SR-125 & ATH-M50 feedback by Brian

I have been enjoying the HA-160 with my AKG K702s, Grado SR-125s, Audio-Technica ATH-M50 headphones and PS Audio DLIII DAC.   I must say that the HA-160 is a very impressive headphone amplifier! The HA-160 is presents music on a neutral canvas with just a hint of warmth. There is no background noise, tons of musical detail, plenty of power, and a good soundstage. This amp can be enjoyed for hours without becoming overly harsh or fatiguing. Brian.

Burson HA-160 feedback by Stewart B.

Very smooth within 48 hours. HA-160 fits in well with a mostly tube-based system. Stewart B.

Burson HA-160 with Sennheiser HD650, Naim Nait 5i & Oppo 93-SE player

The Burson Audio HA-160 is my first ever headphone amp. I needed a dedicated headphone amp because my new system didn't have a headphone jack. I'm using a Naim Nait 5i integrated amp, Oppo 93-SE player, Transparent Audio The Link internconnects, Sennheiser HD-650 headphones, and older B&W 600 series loudspeakers. The Burson sounds fantastic -- I listen to a LOT of classical music, and the amp sounds clear, natural, and neutral. In fact, the sound of the Burson amp reminds me of the sound ...

Burson HA-160 with Sennheiser HD650 feedback by Aaron H.

"I'm writing to report that I LOVE the HA-160 that I purchased. This amp is a beast and a thing of beauty. :-) It makes my Senn HD-650's sing like never before"... Aaron H

Burson HA-160 with AKG Q701 & Sennheiser HD580 feedback by Andre F.

I just purchased your HA-160 headphone amplifier and am greatly enjoying it. I use it with two headphones, an AKG Q701 and a Sennheiser HD580. Both are great headphones but not easy to drive properly. With the HA-160 I have had no difficulty getting more than enough volume. It has power to spare. Also the tone and detail make all my equipment sound much better. I am very impressed with the quality construction of your headphone amplifier. It is built like a tank! I did some reviewing of...

Burson HA-160 with Sennheiser HD650 feedback by Victor S.

I'm a pc enthusiast and a gamer but i also love music. Out of the box the Burson HA-160 already sounds awesome with my sennheiser HD650. I'm still burning-in this great amp right now and hope for more improvement although it already sounds great at least for my ears. My gaming has stopped for a while since i'm hooked up listening for my music. The HA-160 really improved the sound quality of the HD650. I think listening to music will be the best burn-in process for me now because i find it ha...

Burson HA-160 feedback by Ryan K. with Audeze LCD-2 planar magnetic headphones

I'm amazed by the difference the Burson Audio HA-160 has made. At first I didn't even consider buying an amplifier because I couldn't see how it would make a difference. Now that I have had time to listen to my headphones properly amplified I can't go back. Ryan.
