OPINIE o HA-160:
As I got ha160 I've hooked it in directly to my PS Audio PWD D/A convertor and listened just for a while. My first impressions were not very positive - lack of bass (lower to upper bass), compressed mids and harsh highs. I did not bad time to investigate so I let it powered on with HD800 hooked in the right jack for 2days to have a bit of burn-in.
After 2days I put headphones on and the bass impact get much better. I also realized that for 300ohm I should be using the left jack and so tried that and viola, the mids are now full with proper tonality (colour of voice is now much more natural). But having using left jack I realized I can hear hum on background and quickly I realized it's coming from shielded Ethernet cable my DAC is connected To home network. I used Ethernet 1:1 coupler connector to galvanicaly break the cable shielding and this removed the hum I had in headphones.
From this moment I can say that sound of ha160 is fantastic :) Tomas, Słowacja

My main source with this amp is the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD PCI-E, but I've also tried my Pico USB DAC with it. At first, I thought it was a bit light on the bass, but then I realized that it's my X-Fi HD that's light on the bass compared to my Pico DAC. So far my Burson has around 200 hours on it. My HD600 was previously missing some bass, though I had recabled them with TWcu. With HA-160, the bass have now extended lower and hit harder. Mids sounds wonderfully coloured. Treble is a little soft but well extended. With HA-160, I'm also able to use my Sony EX-1000 without any fears of the driver going burst. Though magnificently detailed, clear and transparent without any grain, EX-1000 is sorely lacking in bass. I have owned three headphone amps prior to purchasing the Burson HA 160, i.e. Creek ,Musical Fidelity and HiFi Man in that order . Although each amp has had its own character, each successive amp was an upgrade and the Burson is no exception. I'm very impressed with the build and sound quality of the HA-160 headphone amp. I use mine in a computer audio system with a JKDAC32 DAC, JRiver Media Center for GUI, JPLAY as the player engine and a pair of Denon AH-D7000 headphones. I "risked" the purchase without having been able to listen first, trusting reviews. For me the HA-160 is the very essence of what high-end hi-fi should sound like. Oh wow...what can I say, the build quality and fit finishing is just amazing! I love the all aluminium look and feel. These units are heavy and rock solid! I have been enjoying the HA-160 with my AKG K702s, Grado SR-125s, Audio-Technica ATH-M50 headphones and PS Audio DLIII DAC. I must say that the HA-160 is a very impressive headphone amplifier! I just purchased your HA-160 headphone amplifier and am greatly enjoying it. I use it with two headphones, an AKG Q701 and a Sennheiser HD580. Both are great headphones but not easy to drive properly. With the HA-160 I have had no difficulty getting more than enough volume. It has power to spare. I'm a pc enthusiast and a gamer but i also love music. Out of the box the Burson HA-160 already sounds awesome with my sennheiser HD650. I'm still burning-in this great amp right now and hope for more improvement although it already sounds great at least for my ears. My gaming has stopped for a while since i'm hooked up listening for my music. The HA-160 really improved the sound quality of the HD650.
