BREAKING THE SURFACE (AUFTAUCHEN)

A hip photographer and a young skateboarder find their whirlwind romance complicated by the discovery that they are about to be become parents in director/screenwriter Felicitas Korn's contribution to the 2008 Cinequest Film Festival. Keen-eyed shutterbug Nadja (Henriette Heinz of Paths in the Night) has just landed a gig with the trendiest magazine in town, and in order to celebrate she heads out to the local disco. There, on the dance floor, Nadja locks eyes with twenty year-old skateboarder Darius. At first Darius is somewhat put off by Nadja's forthrightness, but it doesn't take long for the pair to discover that they are true soul mates. Soon thereafter, Nadja and Darius find their passion put to the test as Nadja attempts to prove herself in her new position. As if career issues weren't enough for the fledgling couple to contend with, the revelation that Nadja has gotten pregnant challenges them both in ways that they had never anticipated - at least not at this point in their lives.
