Major label type production team cuts up wild free jazz session into hip hop-ish horn-a-thon featuring Matthew Shipp, William Parker, et al. 

This blueprint was later applied by El-P, DJ Spooky and Jack Dangers on other releases in the "Blue Series Continuum" but this one is a bit more out-there and at the same time is more controlled.

If you dug any of those, then check this as it got a lot less attention and is equally, or even more, deserving of a listen.
