Featuring remixes by Eluvium and none other than Lee 'Scratch' Perry, this eight-track mini-album arrives the same week as the new album from band member Pall Jenkins' other project, Three Mile Pilot. There are three originals on the Blood Bunny/Black Rabbit tracklist, starting with the pulsating, motorik opener 'Blank Page' and follow-on 'The Orchid' which strips away the krautrock influence in favour of some ghoulish strings and piano work with plenty of dissolving echo on the vocals. Jenkins assumes his Mr. Tube guise for a couple of remixes on the album ('Silence' and 'Heaven Below') and San Diego producer Jamuel Saxon contributes a downbeat electronica take on 'Drugs', but its bound to be Eluvium and Lee Perry who grab the headlines. Eluvium's overhaul of 'Drugs' stretches the piece out into ambient-classical territory over ten minutes or so, while Perry tackles 'Freeze' with characteristic eccentricity, laying down a messy dub-techno arrangement during which he announces himself to be "a Thundercat"...
