ASTA KASK "Aldrig En" LP

In 1978 some guys from the small town of Törboda, Sweden where rehearsing in a stinky basement. The band call themselves X-TAS and was formed by Stefan Hovbjer, the brothers Ulf and Per Karlsson and Micke Blomquist. Stefan leaves pretty early on and is replaces by another Stefan "Steve Aktiv" Svensson. The band changes their name to Asta Kask and is writing their own songs now.

After a few demos, where some of them are played on national radio's punkshow "Ny Våg", they decide to record an EP - "För kung och fosterland" for Pang Records in 1981. In connection with the recording the band broke up. Micke decided to try to put together the band again, this time around with Bonni "Banzai" Pont・n (ex Satans Slyngel, Anti Cimex, Product Assar) and Magnus "Ernie Bazzo" Hörnell, although he couln't play bass at all. Ernie suggests his schoolmate Magnus "Bjurre" Bjur・n as the drummer and all of a sudden the second line up of Asta Kask was born. After a few months of practicing they recorded their second EP "En tyst minut" at their practiceplace/studio "Kloakens Alternativa Anti-studio"(where many legendary recordings would take place with bands as Anti Cimex, Avskum etc) and it's realesed in 1982 on Skvaller Records. The band later begins to work with the label Rosa Honung and realeses several records on the label from the years 1[zasłonięte]983-19. The order was: "Plikten framför allt" EP, "Med is i magen" 12" EP, "Än finns det hopp" EP, "LIVE" LP and finally "Aldrig en LP". When they recorded Aldrig en LP the band had already decided to call it quits. That LP and a farwell tour was the end. In 1989 the band had a brief reunion and played a few shows witch reasulted in the split live LP with Rolands Gosskör called "Sista Dansen", on Beat Butchers. And in 1992 there was time for yet another reunion, just one show, witch become the live album "Från andra sidan" on Rosa Honung. After that it was dead quiet. For 11 years.
In 2003 the band is practicing again. After several years of saying NO to offers no one would ever dream of refusing from all over the world, it was time to play the big 25 years of swedish punk anniversary. Just one gig. But they get so many offers so the band reviewed their decision and went on a tour called "the Revenge". By the end of the year they had played 17 shows all over Sweden. After a few months of silence they decide to go on playing in 2004 as well. They had too much fun to stop now, and the fans wanted more. The compilation "Kravallsymfonier 78-86" is realesed on Birdnest records during 2004. Late that autum Bjurre decides to leave the band and Asta kask decides to go with a new drummer David "Dadde" Stark (of legendary Wolfbrigade, UBBA etc) and Asta is born again for real. During 2005 the band have realized that it's not a reunion, a revange or anything like that anymore, Asta Kask a fulltime band again!
And with Asta as a fulltime band, then it's also time to make new songs. At first they were a bit nervous but as time went by and the songs were written all their doubts were gone. In april 2006 they went into studio Soundlab with Mattias FÄrm from Millencolin as the producer. The resualt is the 12 song album "En för alla ingen för nån("one for all, nothig for noone)". The song "Precis som far" from the album is realesed as a 7" single, with the song "Lilla Frida" as the B side on Wasted Sounds records in August 2006. But the album, as well as a planned DVD(a documentary called "Dom får aldrig mig") that was recorded in 2003, is delayed several months because of a dispute with the old recordlabel Rosa Honung regarding the rights to the name Asta Kask. But since Asta kask is a band again and what started as a revenge now have turned into a fullblown WAR the band is now ready to get out there, and the first step is to tour Japan!

ASTA KASK continues to perform in their native Sweden as they pass their 25th anniversary and continues to tour worldwide, most recently playing in Columbia! Includes new liner notes.
