Digital Sound Field Processing is Yamaha's pioneering technology to recreate the acoustic personalities of actually sampled music venues. The RX-V10 provides two Digital Sound Field Processing modes for music: Concert Hall and Rock Concert

Rear panel input jacks make this receiver easy to upgrade to Dolby Digital, the newest and most dramatic surround sound format for movies. The output of Yamaha's DDP-1, DDP-2, other Dolby Digital decoders, or the decoded output from a DVD player easily plug into this receiver to create an up-to-the-minute receiver.

A direct back-panel subwoofer output makes it easy to connect this important component for dramatic home theater.

Two pairs of audio/video inputs and four audio-only inputs make the RX-V10 ready to be the control center for even a sophisticated home theater system.

Performance and convenience are the benchmarks here. The tuner section delivers clean crisp AM and FM reception and features auto and manual tuning as well as 40-station preset capability.

The compact receiver incorporates a well designed 5-channel amplifier section which delivers 45 watts per channel for the front three channels and 15 watts each to the rear surround channels. In addition, the amp utilizes Yamaha's Linear Damping Factor Circuit which provides full damping from 20 to 20,000 Hz and improves definition and resolution throughout the entire audible range.

The advantages of full range, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, damping is that it improves the definition and resolution of the sound output throughout the audible frequency range.

The RX-V10's remote control allows direct DSP access, can operate speaker test mode, center and rear level controls, master volume control, input selection, and sleep timer.
