Firma Tripath zajmująca się wzmacniaczami klasy D opracowała własną technologię obróbki sygnału Digital Power Processing (DPPTM) i wypuściła na rynek układy sterujące pozwalające na budowę wzmacniaczy w nowej klasie T (nazwa klasy T pochodzi od nazwy firmy).
Wzmacniacze klasy T łączą w sobie jakość dźwięku uzyskiwaną w klasie AB z wysoką sprawnością uzyskiwaną w klasie D.
Niestety firma Tripath która opatentowała technologię i produkowała chip-y wykorzystywane między w T-AMP-ach ogłosiła upadłość w końcu 2007 i już ich nie produkuje,
a więc te T-AMP-y które są aktualnie (jeszcze) sprzedawane i produkowane opierają się wyłącznie na zasobach magazynowych tych chip-ów ,czyli na razie nie należy oczekiwać dalszego rozwoju chip-ów Tripath a tym samym T-AMP-ów
.
Stąd też trudnosci w zakupie tych scalaków ..

Cites amplifer as one of "25 Microchips That Shook The World"
In the May 2009 on-line issue of IEEE Spectrum, Tripath's TA2022 class-T amplifier is credited as one of the 25 "most innovative, intriguing, and inspiring integrated circuits" ever. We agree.
The TA2020 is a 20W per channel, two-channel, bridged amplifier incorporating Tripath's Digital Power Processing technology. The resulting Class-T devices deliver the audio fidelity of Class-AB with the power efficiency of Class-D amplifiers, while its sound has been described, to quote the Spectrum article, "as warm and vibrant as tube amps." To celebrate the success of the TA2020 we are offering for a limited period a TA2022 amplifier module from 41Hz Audio for only €55.
Designers the world over have used the TA2022 to implement high-efficiency products that meet the most stringent audio specifications for measurable and audible performance. Despite Tripath's demise, there are still significant quantities of these extraordinary devices available, and Profusion is fortunate to have several thousands in stock. Similar to NOS tubes, products developed with the TA2020 can be marketed on their own merits, boosted by the TA2020's recognition and cachet. Allowing as they do reduced design and system cost, smaller power supply and heat sink, and improved reliability, we recommend the TA2020 for new designs with production runs in the hundreds or thousands.
Along with the TA2022, Profusion continue to carry other Tripath devices, ranging from the 9W/channel TAA2008 to the 300W/ch TK2350. To simplify development there are several original Tripath evaluation boards available and additional Tripath amplifier kits from 41Hz Audio.
