Garry is the captain of Swansea City football club and is regarded as a legend at the club. He leaded the Swans to became the first Welsh team to reach the Premiership. Garry is held in great affection by Swansea fans and seen as Mr Dependable and Captain Marvel rolled into one. He joined the club just two seasons after they had scraped League survival with a last day victory over Hull City. During his seven years at Swansea he has been instrumental in leading them to promotion on three occasions and to the heartbreaking League One Play Off Final defeat at the hands of Barnsley. He is a player who has battled against the odds and instilled that attitude into the players around him. Dogged by serious injury which ruled him out for most of his third season, he fought back to lead his team to the League One Championship in 2008. At the start of season 2010-11 the pundits predicted that Swansea City would be relegated to League One. Instead, Garry and the players defied all the odds, by winning promotion to the Premiership.
